Pupils of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Poronaysk learned about their rights

November 19, 2019, the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library hosted a videoconference entitled “Protecting the Rights and Interests of Children” dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Legal Assistance to Children. The meeting participants were schoolchildren in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Poronaysk.

During the event, the guys learned how legal assistance was organized for children, when and in what case the administrative and criminal liability of minors for a committed offense occurred, they got familiar with regulatory legal acts that enshrine various rights of the child and the procedure for their implementation. Issues related to the property rights of the child were considered.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Sakhalin Region: Pages of History collection. It includes information on the development of Sakhalin Region - the only Russian region located entirely on the islands. The collection is provided in the form of travel essays, geographical and historical descriptions of the mid-19th - early 20th centuries, as well as fragments of the 1929 newsreel.
