Meeting of directors of district and city libraries of Novgorod Region "Modern library in the infrastructure of the municipality"

On November 26 2019, a meeting of directors of district and city libraries of Novgorod Region “Modern library in the infrastructure of the municipality” was held on November 26, 2019.

As part of the meeting in the Novgorod Regional Research Library, the Presidential Library’s specialists spoke with Lyudmila Savelyeva, head of the user service department, and Maria Bystrova, deputy head of the user service department.

Colleagues in their reports spoke about the electronic collections of the Presidential Library as a resource base for cultural and educational activities and about the possibilities of access to the resources of the Presidential Library through remote reading rooms, which will serve as an additional incentive for opening centers of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library in the regional libraries of Novgorod Region. At the end of the meeting, specialists from the Presidential Library answered current questions from the audience.

The meeting also included a working meeting with representatives of archival institutions of the region, scientific libraries of the Novgorod State Museum-Reserve and Novgorod State University, organized by the Regional Center of the Presidential Library in Novgorod Region. The meeting discussed the organization of remote reading rooms based on these institutions and the prospects for joint work on various joint projects.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Novgorod Region: Pages of History collection. The presented statistical and cartographic materials, studies and essays of the 19th - early 20th centuries spotlight the geographical, ethnographic, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of Novgorod Region. The collections also includes the statute in force of the region.
