School librarians of Pskov Region learned about the resources of the Presidential Library

Workshop “Forms and Methods for Implementing the Educational Potential of the School Information and Library Center” was held at the Pskov Regional Institute for Advanced Training of Educators. The event was attended by librarians from schools in the city of Pskov and the region. The main goal facing the workshop participants was to reveal the educational and upbringing potential of modern school libraries.

The Regional Center of the Presidential Library in Pskov Region took an active part in organizing the event. Via the video-conferencing mode, the workshop participants got familiar with the resources and projects of the Presidential Library, whose specialists from the user service department made a presentation for librarians.

At the webinar, school librarians got familiar with the Presidential Library, learned about the differences between access to its resources through the institution’s portal and full access, as well as the technology for connecting to the remote reading room of the Presidential Library. In addition, a general review of the electronic library’s collections was made. Specialists presented various types of documents to the seminar participants, spoke about the sources of fund acquisition.

Of particular interest to teachers and librarians were various forms and methods of working with the resources of the Presidential Library at the school library and information center, which were also covered at a webinar.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Pskov Region: Pages of History collection. It includes studies, essays, statistical materials and archival documents of the late XVIII - mid XX centuries, which spotlight the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of Pskov Region in various historical periods.
