Quest "KLYUCH" held for young readers of Penza

Employees of the Penza regional center of access to the resources of the Presidential Library held the quest "KLYUCH" for pupils of the 6th grades of the school № 56.

Schoolchildren watched videos about the process of creating a manuscript book and manufacturing technology for publications at the dawn of the era of printing. They mastered book terminology and got familiar with examples of book design.

Employees of the Penza Regional Center introduced the quest participants to the book treasures of the Presidential Library. The children studied the possibilities of an electronic reading room, found materials about the first printing yard in Moscow, and they learned from the publication “Ivan Fyodorov” that the first printed book “Apostle” appeared in Russia in 1564.

At the end of the event, everyone received certificates of a member of the club of curious young readers. The guys expressed a desire to continue to use the resources of the Presidential Library.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Penza Region of the late XVIII - first third of the XX century. The current Charter of the region is also presented.
