23 December 2019

Zhongguancun Second Primary School pupils were told about the Russian culture at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. A guided tour of the center was carried out for guests and information on the main areas of its activities was also provided.

The children’s exhibition of Russian crafts was of great interest: the children enthusiastically examined the unique works of the masters and got familiar with the history of their creation. The staff of the center held a small lecture telling about various types of applied art, traditional Russian costume and its main elements. The venue of the lecture was the library of the center, where students had the opportunity to get familiar with books and colorful albums dedicated to the topic of the meeting. A presentation about Russia was presented to young visitors, containing interesting and unusual facts about the country.

Chinese schoolchildren with great pleasure took part in Russian folk games organized for them by the center.

Events of this format are regularly held at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing in order to promote Russian culture, traditions and customs among Chinese youth.

Schoolchildren can also learn about the history of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, which is reflected by the collection “Russia - China: the History of Relations”, available on the Presidential Library’s portal. The documents are available in the RCC library in Beijing, where remote access center to the resources of the Presidential Library has been opened since 2010.
