Little-known Chekhov presented in the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library

On January 17, 2020 specialists of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library held a practice-oriented lesson for senior pupils at school № 56, dedicated to Chekhov’s 160th anniversary. The children were told little-known facts about the writer’s biography using a variety of photographs (for example, photographs by Anton Chekhov and Leo Tolstoy or views of Taganrog streets of Chekhov’s times) posted on the Presidential Library’s portal.

Senior pupils were asked to find books about Chekhov’s work on the Presidential Library’s portal, open digitized sources, check answers to questions and speak briefly to their comrades.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Penza Region of the late XVIII - first third of the XX century. The current Charter of the region is also presented.
