Presentation of books from the Presidential Library’s collection "The Siege: Chronicle of Life” in Penza

On January 23 the electronic reading room of the M. Y. Lermontov’s Penza Regional Library held the presentation of books from the Presidential Library’s collection. The event was a part of the All-Russian Action of Memory “Bread of the Siege”, which launches the Year of Memory and Glory.

The action participants got access to the Presidential Library’s collection “The Defence and Siege of Leningrad”. This unique public resource provides extremely complete information about the heroism of the defenders and residents of Leningrad.

There are documentaries of particular interest telling about the harsh everyday life of the legendary city, which survived 872 long days of the Siege. Everyone can visit the virtual exhibition “Materialized Memory: Defence and Siege of Leningrad in Museum Expositions. Marking the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege” thanks to the 3D tour. It features documents, photographs, and objects collected in various places of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region.

Participants the All-Russian Action of Memory “Bread of the Siege” got an opportunity to learn something new about the epic history of the hero city thanks to the resources of the Presidential Library.
