The Russian language and literature Olympiad held in Nur-Sultan

February 3, 2020 the XIV Career Guidance Olympiad in the Russian Language and Literature “We Will Save You, Russian Speech, Great Russian Word...” was held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Nur-Sultan. This is a joint event of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In his welcoming speech, Acting head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Kazakhstan E. A. Malinina, noted: “The Olympiad is traditionally held on the eve of the International Mother Language Day. In Kazakhstan, there is a “State Program for the Development and Functioning of Languages”, aimed at supporting all languages ​​equally. Senior students from the schools of Nur-Sultan, Karaganda, Temirtau, Pavlodar and other cities take part in the competition of young connoisseurs of Russian literature. From year to year, the number of applications is increasing, which makes us especially happy. This year, more than 250 students have applied. For the winners of the Olympiad, the representative office in Kazakhstan prepared a special prize - exemption from passing the Russian language test for applicants to educational institutions on Rossotrudnichestvo quotas”.

Schoolchildren were also greeted by T. V. Krivoshchapova, professor of philology at the Kazakhstan branch of the Moscow State University. She spoke about the Olympiad stages.

Participants can use the materials of the Russian Language electronic collection, which includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including theses and abstracts of dissertations), dictionaries and reference books, study guides different types and levels. You can get familiar with the materials of the collection at the centers of remote access to the information resources of the Presidential Library located in different countries of the world. Since 2013, one of these centers has been opened at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Nur-Sultan.
