Multimedia lesson for students of Kurgan Region

February 4, 2020 the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Research Library hosted a multimedia lesson "Kurgan Region: Pages of History" for pupils of gymnasium № 32.

In the course of the event, schoolchildren learned about the founder of the city of Kurgan Timofey Anisimovich Nevezhin, about the settlement Tsarev Gorodische and its first inhabitants.

The pupils were interested in the history of the emergence of regional symbolism: the coat of arms and the flag. They also got familiar with Kurgan Region: Pages of History collection available on the Presidential Library’s portal, which includes research, statistical essays, archival documents, photographs and cartographic materials of the 19th - early 21st centuries. The collection spotlights the administrative, socio-economic and geographical position of the Kurgan and Shadrinsk counties, which territory forms modern Kurgan Region.
