Presentation of “Memory Code” book in Bishkek

Presentation of “Memory Code” book by Olga Bezborodova, a well-known journalist, diplomat and public figure, was held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Bishkek. The book is written about the multinational culture of Kyrgyzstan in the genre of historical and journalistic essays. The ceremony was attended by spokesmen for various ethnic groups inhabiting Kyrgyzstan, including Russian compatriots.

The head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Viktor Nefyodov, congratulated the author on the release of the book and noted that it managed to collect a lot of interesting information about the contribution of active figures of small ethnic groups to the development and formation of Kyrgyzstan.

The author Olga Bezborodova presented general information about the “Memory Code” publication and talked about the process of working on essays.

Besides, the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, opened since 2011 at the RCSC in Bishkek, provides access to rare materials of Russia-Kyrgyzstan: the History of Relations collection. It includes research, essays, archival documents, and visual media of the 19th - early 20th centuries, which contain unique information about the geography, economy, political and cultural life of Kyrgyzstan during its entry into the Russian Empire and the USSR, as well as the relationship between the independent Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in the XXI century.
