Young Sakhalin residents tested their knowledge of the Russian language

On February 19, 2020 a quiz “Great, powerful Russian language” was held at the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library.

The contest participants were students of secondary schools in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The quiz questions allowed children to test their knowledge in such sections of the Russian language as phonetics, morphology, syntax. During the event, schoolchildren conducted phonetic analysis of words, solved phraseological proportions from the position of inter-lingual asymmetry and also solved puzzles.

The Presidential Library’s portal will help to better prepare for the intellectual tournament using the Sakhalin Region: Pages of History collection. A selection of materials on the development of the territory of Sakhalin Region - the only Russian region completely located on the islands, includes travel essays, geographical and historical descriptions of the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, as well as fragments of the 1929 newsreel.
