March 4, 2020, the Russian Cultural Center in Tel Aviv hosted the first lesson of preparatory courses for participants in the International Literacy Testing campaign “Total Dictation”, which this year will be held on April 4.

Classes are given by Tatyana Yatsyuk, head of the Russian language teaching center of the Russian Cultural Center, philologist-linguist, doctor of linguistics, coordinator and expert of Total Dictation in Israel.

In the courses from March 4 to April 1, the participants of the campaign will repeat the rules of grammar, discuss with the teacher controversial issues of Russian spelling and punctuation, write training dictations.

The total dictation has been held at the RCSC in Tel Aviv for the seventh year. Representatives of Russian-speaking Israelis of different generations test their knowledge, the number of which is increasing every year.

To prepare for dictation, students can use the materials of the Russian Language electronic collection, which includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing, archival affairs, scientific works (including dissertations and theses), dictionaries and reference books, study guides of various types and levels. The materials of the collection are available in the centers of remote access to the information resources of the Presidential Library located in different countries of the world. Today, the possibility of opening such a center at the RCSC in Tel Aviv is being considered.
