10 April 2020

The book-multimedia exhibition “Crimea through the eyes of librarians” was opened in Yekaterinburg in the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library. The project was implemented by the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library in partnership with the Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library and the regional center of the Presidential Library in the Republic of Crimea.

The exposition is presented in two formats: electronic and traditional.

The traditional exhibition introduces guides to the Crimea, photo albums, literary and artistic almanacs.

The virtual “bookshelf” contained a whole array of various materials: these are personal stories, memoirs, photo and video materials created by librarians of Sverdlovsk, Leningrad, Oryol, Astrakhan and other regions of Russia. The library staff presented their views on the peninsula, talked about their travels and discoveries.

A separate block presents materials provided by specialists of the Crimean cultural institutions: bibliographic manuals, regional documents.

The exposition is supplemented by a multimedia block that introduces the collections of the Presidential Library Republic of Crimea: Pages of History, Crimea in postcards and Sevastopol - the City of Russian Naval Glory.

The Presidential Library’s portal provides access to Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History collection, which includes electronic copies of studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The materials spotlight the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of the region.
