Protopop Avvakum illustrated in the Presidential Library’s electronic materials

On the eve of the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture, the specialists of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library prepared a presentation of electronic resources dedicated to one of the most interesting and brightest personalities in Russian history, the author of the first Russian biography - Archpriest Avvakum, whose 400th birthday will be 400 years old in 2020.

The presentation provides links to digitized books, scientific and popular articles, abstracts of dissertations and manuscripts, including a collection of Old Believer writings autographed by Archpriest Avvakum. Books and articles reflect the personality traits of the hero, “who had a special dialogue with God”, his firm, unshakable character. One can learn about these materials on the Presidential Library’s portal.

The Presidential Library has also formed an electronic collection dedicated to Penza Region. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region at the end of the XVIII - the first third of the XX century, as well as the current Charter of Penza Region.
