Presentation of a book on Tajikistan's contribution to the Great Victory presented at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Dushanbe

The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Dushanbe hosted a presentation of the book by military historian Gafur Shermatov “War and Victory. Tajikistan in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”. The historical and publicistic work reveals the heroic pages of the feat of the Tajik people, who from the first days of the Great Patriotic War fought selflessly on the fronts against the German fascist invaders.

The event was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Tajikistan Mikhail Vozhdaev, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and veteran organizations, scientists and cultural figures, historians, and journalists.

A large number of materials about the Great Patriotic War are presented in the large-scale electronic collection of the Presidential Library "Memory of the Great Victory". It includes official documents, photos and newsreels, newspapers and magazines, leaflets, posters, books, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies of combatants and home front workers, their personal documents, images of military and labor awards, monuments and memorial complexes.

The materials from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library are available on the portal and in the remote access centers located in many countries of the world. Since 2011, visitors to the RCSC library in Dushanbe have the opportunity to use the entire volume of the Presidential Library’s collections.
