Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gomel held the "Books for Children" charity campaign

On September 1, the Knowledge Day, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gomel held the "Books for Children" charity campaign. More than fifty new popular books were donated to the library of the Gomel City Social and Pedagogical Center, which is a home and school for orphans from 3 to 18 years old.

The first day of classes is the best time to replenish and renew the library collections, which includes literature for kids and teenagers. New acquisitions are fairy tales and stories for little children, illustrated dictionaries and encyclopedias, collections of poetry and prose of Russian writers, textbooks and educational books on the Russian language and literature. They are popular with everyone.

The campaign of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gomel is a part of the Federal Target Program "Russian Language" aimed at popularizing and increasing the prestige of the Russian language and culture abroad.

Everyone who studies Russian may explore the materials of the extensive thematic digital collection of the Presidential Library, which includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival documents, scientific works, dictionaries and catalogues, and educational books. They are available at Remote Reading Rooms of the Presidential Library located in 30 countries of the world. One of these centres has been working on the basis of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gomel since 2019.
