A book about the Russian creative intelligentsia in the USA published in Washington

The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Washington, together with the writer and linguist Marina Dallnig, has released the collection Russian Creativity in the United States, dedicated to the life of the contemporary Russian creative intelligentsia in America.

The release of the collection is timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the birth of Soviet theater and film actor, screenwriter Boris Kazints.

Materials on the history of Russian theater are provided in the Presidential Library’s collections. The special collection, timed to coincide with the Year of Theater in Russia, spotlights various aspects of the development of theatrical business: the history of the emergence of theater in pre-Petrine Rus’, theatrical traditions of the peoples of Russia, the activities of theater management bodies in the Russian Empire, modern searches for new forms and genres, norms and rules for actors and other specialties related to theater, design and performance of performances, theater life in the regions. The collection includes official documents, archival materials, monographs, serials, visual and audiovisual resources. A separate section includes biographical information about directors, actors and other representatives of the theater.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the electronic collection "Russia - USA: the History of Relationship", which materials reflect, among other things, the interaction of countries in the field of culture.

Only a part of the documents is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. The full collections are available in the remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library located in different countries.
