Concert dedicated to Teacher's Day to be held at the Presidential Library
October 24, 2020 at 13:00 a concert dedicated to Teacher's Day will be held at the Presidential Library on October 24, 2020 at 13:00.
The audience will be presented with an exclusive musical program - the famous love tragedy of William Shakespeare "Romeo and Juliet", interpreted by composers of different eras.
The immortal works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, fragments of the opera by Charles Gounod, arias and duets from the opera by Vincenzo Bellini, as well as Romeo's aria from the once highly acclaimed, but rarely heard today, opera by Riccardo Zandonai will be performed.
The heroes of the world-famous work will be presented by some of the brightest soloists of the Mariinsky Theater and the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers, laureates of prestigious international and all-Russian competitions: Maria Bayankina (soprano), Alexander Mikhailov (tenor), Svetlana Moskalenko (soprano), Tigran Ohanyan (tenor) ...The concert will be also attended by the Tsarskoye Selo Piano Duo and the Klever Orchestra chamber orchestra; the piano part will be performed by the diploma winner of international competitions Anatoly Kuznetsov.
Ballet stars Marat Shamiunov and Irina Perren will tell the story of Veronese lovers in a dance drawing. A special gift for the audience will be a composition to the music of the classic of the 20th century composer Nino Rota from the film masterpiece by Franco Zeffirelli.
The concert will be broadcasted live on October 24, 2020 from 13:00 (Moscow time) in Live broadcasts section of the Presidential Library’s portal.
