The electronic edition "Theater as a Testimony of the Epoch" accepted as a laureate of the All-Russian competition

Gorky Volgograd Regional Universal Scientific Library has become a laureate of the VII All-Russian review competition for the best electronic publication on culture and art. This became known during the annual meeting of the heads of federal and central regional libraries of Russia, held on November 11 and November 12, 2020 in online format.

This year, 78 libraries from 36 subjects located in all federal districts of the country were involved in the competition organized by the Russian State Library. 94 applications were submitted to the competent and authoritative jury. In the nomination "The best electronic edition on culture and art" the championship was received by the electronic edition "Theater as a Testimony of the Epoch".

The electronic edition "Theater as a Testimony of the Epoch" includes more than 110 books and more than 120 periodicals from the collections of the Gorky Volgograd Library, as well as libraries of Kemerovo, Tver, Tambov, Penza, Sakhalin and Amur regions, the Republic of Crimea and the Republic of Komi.

This resource has been launched within the framework of the interregional historical and cultural project "Theater as a Testimony of the Epoch", initiated by the Gorky Volgograd Library in the Year of Theater with the support of the Presidential Library. One of the key events of the project was the holding on March 27, 2019 of the Interregional Scientific and Practical Video Conference "National Theater: the Past and the Present", which took place under the patronage of the Presidential Library, the Volgograd Regional Duma, the Volgograd Region Culture Committee and united the Presidential library, Volgograd, Sakhalin, Kemerovo, Tambov and Tver regional scientific libraries. The materials of this conference entered the electronic resource “Theater as a Testimony of the Epoch”.

The victory in the competition once again demonstrated the need for fruitful cooperation between the regional centers of the Presidential Library, which becomes an incentive for the development of libraries and allows you to create high-quality electronic products.

Thanks to corporate interaction, readers got the opportunity to learn about the published works of theater experts of the beginning and first half of the last century. These are books that fully reveal the history of Russian drama and allow readers to touch the main milestones in the development of theatrical business.
