Book presentation dedicated to the life and career of Anon Chekhov took place in Trivandrum

As part of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Trivandrum, as well as in honor of the 160th anniversary of the birth of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, the RCSC hosted a literary evening and a book presentation dedicated to the Great Russian writer, his life and contribution to the world literature. The initiator and organizer of the publication of the book was the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Trivandrum.

The event was attended by representatives of the cultural community of Kerala, teachers and students of local universities, lovers of Russian literature, compatriots, and journalists. The main persons involved in the creative meeting were guests of honor: the famous Indian film director and screenwriter Shyamaprasad, member of the Council of the State Center for the Performing and Visual Arts "Bharat Bhavan" Robin Xavier and Associate Professor of the Mohammed Iqbal College of Department of English Dr. Jahangir.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the materials of the electronic collection “Anton Chekhov (1860–1904)" dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the classic of world literature. It includes digital copies of books, periodicals and archival documents that reveal various facets of Chekhov's personality, his life and career; presents postcards and photographs with images of the writer, materials dedicated to preserving the memory of him, as well as the texts of his individual works of art, articles and letters.

Only a part of the materials from the electronic repository is publicly available on the Presidential Library's portal. The library's information resources in full are provided at the remote access centers opened in different countries of the world.
