More than 1700 schoolchildren and students take part in the second stage of the interactive Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World"

The second stage of the eleventh annual interactive Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" is held at the Presidential Library from December 16, 2020 to January 22, 2021. More than 1,700 people who have successfully passed the first stage, which was held in the Presidential Library in the online format from September 21 to November 30, 2020, take part in it remotely.

Pupils of 10-11 grades, as well as students of institutions of secondary vocational education in Russia and foreign countries, registered on the website of the interactive educational project and tested their knowledge of the Russian language, history and social studies. The first stage was attended by 3,556 schoolchildren and students from 74 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from abroad.

1,721 participants entered the second stage: in history - 531, in social studies - 670, in Russian - 520. Information about the winners is available on the Olympiad website: http://olympiada.prlib.ru/#/Welcome. Now pupils and students will compete for the right to participate in the finals.

The third and final stage of the interactive educational project will take place from March 16 to 18, 2021. Information on the form of its holding will be published later.

Tasks for the Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" are developed, inter alia, based on the materials from the Presidential Library’s collections, the volume of which today amounts to about a million depository items. In digital form, it contains books and periodicals, archival documents, newsreels, photographs, scientific and educational films, abstracts of dissertations, as well as other materials spotlighting the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation. One can try their hand and learn about the questions in the "Archive" section on the Olympiad website, where tasks for all the years of its existence are presented.

The knowledge of the participants is assessed by a competent jury, which includes reputable scientists and teachers from leading Russian universities. The winners and awardees are presented with prizes and gifts from the Presidential Library.

During the existence of the Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" - since 2010 - more than 45,000 students have taken part in it. Many winners and awardees later entered prestigious universities of Russia.

For foreign students and schoolchildren over 14 years old, the Olympiad is held in the discipline "Russian as a foreign language". It includes two mandatory stages. The first (qualifying) stage takes place from October 1, 2020 in correspondence form using a remote testing system.
