Kurgan schoolchildren were told about the siege of Leningrad

January 28, 2021, employees of the Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library held a thematic hour dedicated to the Day of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.

Students of the 7th grade of gymnasium No. 32 took part in the event. The children were told about the terrible days of the siege, about the incredible heroism and courage that the inhabitants and defenders of Leningrad showed. Senior pupils watched videos about the Road of Life, hunger, cold, periodic bombing, about a little girl Tanya Savicheva. The students were also introduced to the collection The Defence and Siege of Leningrad, which is available on the Presidential Library’s portal.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Kurgan Region: Pages of History, which includes research, statistical essays, archival documents, cartographic data and photographs of the 19th - early 21st centuries, spotlighting the administrative, socio-economic, geographical position of the Kurgan and Shadrin districts, the territory which forms the basis of the modern region.
