
Israel honored the memory of the heroic defenders and victims of the siege of Leningrad
January 27, 2021, on the day of the 77th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, a wreath-laying ceremony organized by the Russian Embassy took place in the center of Jerusalem in the Saker Park near the Candle of Memory monument dedicated to the heroic feat of the defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad in Israel and the Jerusalem City Hall with the assistance of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Israel.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the materials of the electronic collections Memory of the Great Victory and The Defence and Siege of Leningrad. They include official documents, photographs and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, propaganda publications, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies of combatants and home front workers, their personal documents, and much more.
Only part of the materials from the collections of the national electronic repository is presented in the public domain on the Presidential Library’s portal and in the remote access centers opened in different countries of the world.
