
Kurgan schoolchildren learned about the history of New Year’s cards and New Year’s toys
Employees of the Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library introduced the students of School No. 42 to a virtual exhibition dedicated to postcards of the pre-revolutionary era and Soviet times.
The schoolchildren were told about postcards and art publications from the collections of the Presidential Library, the National Electronic Library and the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library. The children were greatly interested in the electronic collection New Year’s Day and Christmas in Russia available on the Presidential Library's portal, which includes unique materials dedicated to winter holidays.
The students also learned about New Year's toys of the Soviet era, presented in the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Kurgan Region: Pages of History, which includes research, statistical essays, archival documents, cartographic data and photographs of the 19th - early 21st centuries which spotlight the administrative, socio-economic, geographical position of the Kurgan and Shadrinsky districts, whose territory forms the basis of the modern region.
