The Presidential Library to implement a professional development program

February 8-13, 2021 the Presidential Library undergoes training on an additional professional advanced training program "Formation and use of digital collections". The program is mastered by library specialists - employees of the Military Historical Library of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and representatives of other professional communities.

The program is being implemented remotely. Leading specialists of the Presidential Library hold training sessions.

Issues of the formation of digital collections, including the resources of library, archival and museum storage are considered at the program. Teachers introduce listeners to modern standards and formats for data description format of cultural heritage.

In the process of training, listeners learn the processes of digitizing various types of documents. In the context of using distance educational technologies, the principle of visualization of education is implemented through the demonstration of unique video materials created in the Presidential Library. The lecture-visualization allows the audience to get a complete picture of the set of actions of the specialists carrying out digitization.

The curriculum of the program includes classes on the legal aspects of the formation and use of electronic resources by libraries.

Based on the results of training and passing certification, listeners will be issued certificates of advanced training.

The Presidential Library is a nationwide electronic repository of digital copies of the most important documents on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood and the Russian language, which has the status of the National Library of Russia. The volume of the institution's collections is about one million depository items. They are electronic copies of books and periodicals, archival documents, audio and video recordings, photographs, scientific and educational films, thesis and other materials.
