Yekaterinburg continues to celebrate the Year of Medical Worker

The Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted a meeting of one of the sections of the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues of Modern Medical Science and Health Care".

The event highlighted important issues on the topic of the conference. The Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Narcology of the Ural State Medical University celebrates its 85th anniversary in 2021, and members of the student scientific society researching problems in this area presented their reports during the work of the section based on the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

The electronic collections of the Presidential Library contain number of materials on the topic of the section: Doubtful mental states before the court: forensic medical opinions processed for doctors and judges by Dr. K. Liman, professor and staff physicist in Berlin, On the impact of military service on the spread of smoking and the use of alcoholic beverages in the population and others. Of particular interest to the audience was the dressing kerchief produced in 1938–1942 by the First State Autonomous Cotton Printing Factory (Moscow) by order of the Sanitary Administration of the Red Army. The triangular piece of fabric shows the dressing patterns that can be done with this headscarf.

Cooperation of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library with the main medical university of the Urals is especially important in 2021, which was declared the Year of Medical Worker in the region by the decree of the Governor of Sverdlovsk Region.

The Presidential Library's portal features the electronic collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and spotlights the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects of the history of the region.
