Employees of the libraries of the Tamalinsky district of Penza Region learned about the resources of the Presidential Library

April 15, 2021 the Regional Center for Access to the Presidential Library's resources based on the M. Yu. Lermontov Regional Library held a webinar "Digital Libraries - to Help Professionals" for librarians of the Tamalinsky District of Penza Region.

The staff of the center told the audience about the content of the basic collections on the prlib.ru portal and also shared their experience in organizing events for schoolchildren using the Presidential Library’s content.

On the eve of the Victory Day celebrations, the webinar participants were invited to pay attention to the Exhibitions section on the Presidential Library’s portal. The virtual tours and excursions presented in it introduce to expositions on a wide variety of topics. These include official documents, photographs, maps, periodicals, leaflets, books, and more. As part of the webinar, librarians of Tamalinsky district, in particular, were shown some of the exhibits of the exhibition The Great Patriotic War, Which Determined the Outcome of the Second World War.

The digitized local history materials aroused great interest among the participants of the event. They were introduced not only to books about the Penza province from the holdings of the Presidential Library, but also to collections of old photographs, for example, a photograph of an oak tree by I. A. Krylov in the estate of the Golitsyn-Prozorovsky princes "Zubrilovka" (the village of Zubrilovo, Tamalinsky district).

At the end of the webinar, visitors to the Regional Center learned about the educational and educational projects of the Presidential Library: the Gosudarika website and the interactive Olympiad for schoolchildren "Russia in the Electronic World".

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Penza Region: Pages of History. it includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials covering demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region at the end of the 18th - first third of the 20th century.
