The Russian House in Ljubljana turns 10 years old!
Russian-Slovenian agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the establishment and conditions for the opening of centers of science and culture was signed on 10 years ago. On April 21, 2011 the Russian House was solemnly opened in Ljubljana.
It helps in the development of comprehensive friendly relations between our countries, introduces the Slovenian public to today's Russia, supports the study of the Russian language and the promotion of Russian culture as well as holds historical and memorial activities. The Russian House offers Russian language courses, exhibitions, film screenings, conferences, concerts, and receptions.
Since 2011, a center of remote access to information resources of the Presidential Library has been opened at the Russian House in Slovenia. Its guests have opportunity to use in their studies and work the electronic collections of the Presidential Library, which combine a variety of types of resources: book publications, rare archival files, ancient manuscripts, visual materials, multimedia content (audio and video recordings).
The main topics of the collections are related to the history of Russia, national legislation and the Russian language. Particular attention is paid to issues of national geography and local history, relations between Russia and other countries, the reflection of Russian history in works of literature and art.
