Yekaterinburg residents received a gift marking Russia Day

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library congratulated the townspeople on Russia Day.

In front of the Belinka building there was held a small book exhibition from the collections of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library dedicated to Russia Day. Passers-by were waiting for an express acquaintance with the institution's electronic resources. The digital collections, which volume exceeds a million depository items, a wide range of online events, thematic collections dedicated to the regions of Russia, allow traveling not only in space, but also in time. Within two hours, more than a hundred townspeople learned about the possibilities that a record gives to the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library, and also received postcards made by the editorial and publishing department of Belinka as a gift: reprints from publications from the Presidential ‘s collections. The back presents QR codes for electronic collections dedicated to the regions of Russia. The librarians joked that they had to pull at random to find out where we were going on vacation this summer. Some of the passers-by got Sevastopol, some the views of Moscow or St. Petersburg, and some the mountain landscape of Altai.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the current collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and introduces the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects history of the region.
