The spring-summer session "Breakfasts with the Presidential Library"

The Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library and the Tyumen branch of the Presidential Library summed up the results of the regular session of the series of methodological meetings "Breakfasts with the Presidential Library".

The session “Dialogues about the resources of the Presidential Library for Science and Education” has been ended with Olga Ovchinnikova’s speech, director of the scientific library of the Ural State Law University, Ph.D. At the meeting they discussed the work of the Presidential Library’s Academic Council, of which the Ural University is an active member, the practice of working with electronic library systems before and during a pandemic, as well as possible mechanisms for promoting the resources of the Presidential Library among students and school audiences. Olga Anatolyevna, addressing the representatives of remote electronic reading rooms, emphasized the special importance of the role of the librarian - a kind of curator, guide, “navigator” through the bottomless digital funds, and noted the success of the competitive practices. They also emphasized the need to actively involve students as one of the main target audiences of the Presidential Library to work on improving their research culture using examples of using only verified sources.

In total, the spring session included five meetings, this season under the general subtitle "Dialogues". The informal nature of meetings has become a good tradition of "Breakfasts" - the opportunity to ask questions, discuss during the conversation. In addition, under the current restrictions, "Breakfasts" make it possible to strengthen horizontal ties between regions and representative offices of the Presidential Library of various formats based on the internship site of the Tyumen branch and media education projects of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the current collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and introduces the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects history of the region.
