Rossotrudnichestvo arranged a conference "Historical Truth: Dialogue Through Generations"

June 22, 2021 marks 80 years since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. On the eve of this date, the specialists of the Russian House in Cyprus organized a conference dedicated to topical issues of preserving the historical truth.

Natalia Narochnitskaya, Doctor of Historical Sciences, President of the Historical Perspective Foundation, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation; Elpida Charalambous, Executive Secretary of the Victory Organizing Committee of the Republic of Cyprus; Mikis Filaniotis, Team Leader for the translation into Greek of the multivolume “Great Victory” were invited to the event as experts. 

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Memory of the Great Victory which is constantly updated with new unique materials: official and personal documents, photographs and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books and publications of an agitation and propaganda nature, collections of articles and biographies, testimonies of combatants battles, images of military and labor awards, monuments and memorial complexes.

The institution’s portal provides a virtual tour of the historical documentary exhibition “1939 year. The beginning of the Second World War”. Archival documents, newsreels, photographs tell about the events that led to a large-scale world conflict, make it possible to understand the reasons for the failure of the creation of a broad anti-Hitler coalition with the participation of the USSR, as well as the logic of the actions of the Soviet leadership in the current international situation.
