Day of Remembrance and Sorrow held in Yekaterinburg
As part of the "Memorable Dates of Russia" project, employees of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library held a review event “To be remembered. 80 books" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The review has been organized according to the list of electronic documents from the collections of the Presidential Library and the Sverdlovsk Regional Center. The list includes unique handwritten journals created by soldiers at the front, art albums perpetuating the memory of the Great Victory, regional studies devoted to the work of the Urals people in factories and hospitals in 1941-1945, works of art and archival documents.
The materials of the review show the beginning of the Great Patriotic War from all sides: each letter of the alphabet contains its own document and its own history.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and introduces the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects history of the region.
