3 July 2021

The Presidential Library takes part in the annual Interregional Round Table "Methodological Service of Regional Libraries in Modern Conditions", which is held on July 2-3, 2021 at the M. Yu. Lermontov Penza Regional Library. The event is also organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Penza Region and the Russian Library Association.

The already traditional interregional events "Under the Lermontov Star" this time brought together not only offline, but also online participants - the best library specialists from all over Russia.

The heads, as well as specialists of methodological services of federal, regional, municipal libraries discuss topics such as scientific and scientific-methodological activities of libraries in the Strategy for the Development of Library Science in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030; organization and priority directions of scientific and methodological activities of central libraries; the formation of professional communications, including in the electronic environment. The topics for discussion are the basic standards approved by the XXV RLA conference and regional practices for the creation of model municipal libraries.

In order to spread the best practices of organizing remote access centers in the regions, improve the methodological activities of regional centers of the Presidential Library and promote its resources, a special event "Regional Center of the Presidential Library: Range of Action" was held for the first time this year. Specialists from the Presidential Library and its regional centers spoke at the event.

The Presidential Library and Penza Region are linked by long-standing partnership. Within the days of the All-Russian Library Congress, a cooperation agreement between the Presidential Library and the government of Penza Region was signed in May 2013. A year later, the Regional Center of Remote Access to the Presidential Library's resources appeared in the region, on the site of which significant public events in Russia and Penza Region are now held. In addition to the Regional Center, 8 remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library have been successfully opened in Penza Region.
