The possibilities of multimedia technology spotlighted at the Presidential Library’s cinema club meeting

September 9, 2021 the Presidential Library hosted a cinema club meeting Visualization in Culture: Using Multimedia Technology to Create Video. The event was organized jointly with the International DH Center in ITMO University.

For cultural institutions, the electronic environment is an opportunity to make the national heritage available to a wide audience. The cinema club participants discussed the types of multimedia technology and the way to use them.

Representatives of the School of Young Professionals M-Art St. Petersburg GBUDO Center for Creative Development and Humanitarian Education On Vasilievsky showed creative works that use such visual design methods as kinetic typography, motion design, infographics, animation and video effects. The multimedia projects are based on materials spotlighting the world's cultural heritage.

In turn, the specialists of the International DH Center in ITMO University presented projects that use computer algorithms to collect, analyze, interpret and visualize humanitarian data. Experts revealed the possibilities of using digital technology for the preservation of cultural heritage and told about the new international master's program Digital Techniques in Humanities Research in analytics and visualization of humanitarian data.

The cinema club meeting was broadcasted live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section, on the institution's YouTube channel, as well as on the page of the Presidential Library's cinema club on the VKontakte social network.
