Lesson of Memory with the Presidential Library held in Kurgan

The Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library held a Lesson of Memory timed to the Day of the end of World War II. The memorable date is celebrated in our country on September 3.

The event was attended by teachers, ethnographers, students, cultural workers, senior students.

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the regional library, told the audience about unique resources currently available - electronic copies of archival documents that reveal the causes and preconditions of the Second World War.

Many of the submitted materials have been declassified recently and are being published for the first time. They spotlight events in the world since 1933 - Hitler's rise to power in Germany, as well as the consequences of this historical fact.

The lesson participants also watched an informational plot about the Collection of digitized archival documentary evidence, film and photo materials World War II in archival documents, presented on the Presidential Library’s portal.

A wide range of materials about the heroes, military campaigns of the Second World War is presented in the Collection of digitized archival documents, film and photo materials World War II in Archival Documents. September 3, 2021 more than 3.5 thousand digitized archival documents, film and photo materials starting September 1, 1939 - June 22, 1941 provided from 8 federal archives (Russian State Military Archives, Russian State Archives of Social and Political History, Russian State Archives of Contemporary History, State Archives of the Russian Federation, Russian State Archives of Economy, Russian State Archives of Film and Photo Documents, Russian State Naval Archives, Russian State Archives in Samara), institutional archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence, the Federal Security Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, as well as state archives of Belarus) entered the Collection.

In accordance with the List of Instructions for the implementation of the Address of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated January 15, 2020, the preparation of the Collection is organized by the Federal Archival Agency with the participation of archival services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.
