The Chuvash Regional Centre of the Presidential Library took part in the All-Russian Educational Project "The ABC of the Digital Economy"

From August 18 to 20, 2021, the Chuvash Regional Centre of Access to the Presidential Library's Information Resources at the National Library of the Chuvash Republic took part in the All-Russian Educational Project The ABC of the Digital Economy. It presented a series of six lectures Digital Economy Technology for All. Lectures 1 and 2 were entitled Origins and Meanings of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Cloud Computing. Lectures 3 and 4 covered the themes of Virtual and Augmented Reality and Big Data. Lectures 5 and 6 were devoted to Artificial Intelligence. The Main Domestic Solutions and Documents about the Digital Economy.

The lecturer was Yuri Cherny, PhD in Philology, Head of the Centre for the Study of Informatics Problems, Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow). The project's partners are the Russian Society "Znaniye" (Knowledge) with the assistance of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation of the Chuvash Republic, and the Ministry of Culture for Ethnic and Archival Affairs of the Chuvash Republic.

Thanks to the lectures, residents of Chuvashia learned about the changes in the present development of human civilization and ideas of the digital transformation of society.

The main venue and infrastructure basis for the systemic digital education of citizens became the library system of the Chuvash Republic, governed by the National Library as its unified scientific and methodological centre. The project involved central libraries of 21 administrative regions of the Chuvash Republic and five cities of republican significance - Cheboksary, Alatyr, Kanash, Novocheboksarsk and Shumerli.

The participants of the events asked questions about the transformation of the education system and the formation of new professions, data security problems and possible restrictions on human rights and freedoms in the digital future. By all accounts, the lectures contributed to getting a comprehensive idea of the prospects for the industrial economy in the world and the digital economy in the Russian Federation.

The Presidential Library's collection Chuvash Republic (Chuvashia) introduces the history and modern development of this region. It features studies, official and archival documents, graphic materials regarding socio-economic, political and cultural aspects of the Chuvash Republic.
