The contest started on April 1, 2021, and included three nominations: Tambov in Faces (for portraits of city residents), The Beauty of the Tambov Landscape (for works reflecting the beauty and rich nature of Tambov Region) and Walls of the Native Town (for images that reveal the diversity and aesthetics of Tambov architecture). The jury received more than a hundred photographs.

After the awarding ceremony, the specialists of the Regional Centre spoke about the Presidential Library's multimedia contest Foreign View and collections of the national digital repository. They paid particular attention to the Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky (1863–1944) collection, devoted to the Russian pioneer of colour photography. It features materials about the life and work of the photographer and provides an electronic version of his famous collection Russian Sights.

The Presidential Library's collection Tambov Region: Pages of History is also engaging. It includes research, statistical materials and archival documents of the late XVIII - early XX centuries that cover the administrative, economic, demographic, educational and religious situation of Tambov Province.
