The 100th center of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library opened in Sverdlovsk Region

The jubilee remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in Sverdlovsk Region is located in Nizhny Tagil based on the pedagogical college №1. Its opening was announced at the traditional March meeting of the Presidential Library’s residents in the Middle Urals. In summer, the preparation and equipment of the hall went on, and on October 4, on the eve of Teacher's Day, the hall was solemnly opened remotely.

Nina Zhuravleva, First Deputy Minister of Education and Youth Policy of Sverdlovsk Region, made a welcoming speech. Nina Viktorovna emphasized the importance of the event in improving the process of training future teachers, outlined new prospects opening up for scientific and research work of college students and teachers with the opening of the reading room of the Presidential Library.

The video greeting by Alexei Vorobyov, Director for External Relations of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, allowed the event participants to present the scale of the regional network, which will now include the college, to learn about the possibilities of cooperation with the Presidential Library.

The words of the welcoming address of Olga Oparina, Director of the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library based on the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library which has been opened since 2018, were announced.

In her turn, Natalya Nikokosheva, Director of the Nizhny Tagil Pedagogical College No. 1, stressed the importance of opening a reading room for the development of the institution in the context of the formation of a new educational environment. It is also noteworthy that this event took place in the year of the 95th anniversary of the college. A video about the college and the library presented to the audience the wide possibilities of an educational institution, equipped according to the latest requirements of the time and filled with interesting and lively events. At the end of the meeting, a student volunteer group made a presentation on the topic “Using the resources of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library in the system of the educational process of secondary vocational education”.

Specialists from the head office and the Tyumen branch, regional centers of the Presidential Library in Barnaul, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, and others attended the event as guests remotely.

Recall that the Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and introduces the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects history of the region.
