An interactive lesson about space held for Tyumen school students
The key event in 2021, which marks the anniversary of the first human journey into outer space, was an unusual online lesson for tenth graders of Tyumen Gymnasium No. 1.
Specialists of the branch of the Presidential Library in Tyumen Region prepare traditional electronic exhibitions on various topics. They feature selected materials, documents, photographs from the collections of the national electronic repository.
The teacher from Gymnasium No. 1 explored the electronic exhibition based on the collection Open Space and requested the branch of the Presidential Library to organize an online lesson for students. His initiative was supported.
On April 12, 2021, the Chief Bibliographer Natalya Kuznetsova delivered an online lesson using materials from an existing electronic exhibition and introduced Tyumen school students to the content of the Presidential Library's collections, focusing on the selection devoted to space.
The unique feature of this lesson was the opportunity for Tyumen school students to study the history of space exploration using the digital collection Open Space on their smartphones and listen to the lecture.
At the end of the lesson, the students solved the interactive online crossword puzzle Space Exploration, based on information from the lecture. The participants found this format of work to be effective. It is possible to hold similar events in the future.
