Quest "Stolyarny Lane, 5" in the Ryazan regional center of the Presidential Library

November 17, employees of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library held the quest "Stolyarny Lane, 5". The game was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fyodor Dostoevsky - a date that the world community celebrates in 2021.

Senior pupils and students took part in the quest. They were offered tasks thematically related to the biography and work of the great writer. When preparing the sites, materials from the collections of the Ryazan Regional Scientific Library and the Presidential Library were used.

In search of addresses described in Fyodor Mikhailovich's novel "Crime and Punishment", the participants of the quest studied maps of St. Petersburg of the 19th century on the Presidential Library's portal, recognized the portraits of heroes and interiors from fragments of the work, and read fragments from the novel in English.

According to the feedback from the participants, the holiday turned out to be informative and bright. The pupils were happy to discover new facts about the life and career of the famous writer.

A separate collection of the Presidential Library is dedicated to Fyodor Dostoevsky. It is timed to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky and features digital copies of books, archival documents, visual materials and video recordings. Of particular value are the first magazine publications of Dostoevsky's works: the novels "Crime and Punishment", "The Idiot", "Demons", "The Brothers Karamazov", the stories "White Nights" and "Eternal Husband", stories "Mr. Prokharchin", "A novel in nine letters", "Another's wife and husband under the bed", "Crocodile". Also the collection includes writer's notebooks and journalistic materials that were published on the pages of the journals published by him "Epoch" (together with his brother M. M. Dostoevsky) and "Diary of a Writer".
