
Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library and the Orenburg Military Cossack Society: New Prospects for Cooperation
The Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library hosted agreements on cooperation between the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Universal Scientific Library and the Sverdlovsk State Regional Palace of Folk Art with the Orenburg military Cossack society. The purpose of the agreements is to organize activities for the preservation and development of the original Cossack culture on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region in 2022. This is a landmark event for all parties, marking a new round of joint work in the field of patriotic education.
The ceremony was attended by a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Cossack Affairs, adviser to the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, military chieftain of the Orenburg Cossack army, candidate of historical sciences, Cossack general Vladimir Romanov, acting director of the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library Elena Golendukhina, Director General of Sverdlovsk State Regional Palace of Folk Art Mikhail Turygin.
The plan for the implementation of joint events includes various formats of interaction between the library and the Cossack society, including the holding of cultural and educational events with students of the Yekaterinburg cadet school based on the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library. The electronic collections of the Presidential Library contain a significant number of interesting materials on the history of the Orenburg Cossack army, as well as on the traditions, household life, uniforms and ammunition of the Ural Cossacks.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Sverdlovsk Region: Pages of History, which contains statistical materials, studies, essays and photographs of the 19th - early 20th centuries and spotlights the geographical, demographic, socio-economic and socio-political aspects history of the region.
