
Moldova received a large batch of Russian books as a gift from the Russian House
In December 2021, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Moldova handed over to the libraries of Gagauzia a large batch of new books - fiction, scientific, reference books and dictionaries. The action was held within the framework of the "Russian book as a gift" campaign. The handover ceremony took place in Comrat, in the Central Library of Gagauzia.
The "Russian Book as a Gift" campaign was launched at the beginning of this year. Within its framework, the Russian House in Chisinau donated about 5 thousand books to Moldovan educational institutions and libraries. More than 50 kindergartens, schools, lyceums, universities and libraries received literature; their funds were replenished with art books and teaching aids, reference books, encyclopedias and dictionaries.
The event was attended by the head of the Russian House in Chisinau Andrei Muravyov, coordinator of educational projects Viktor Kostetskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia Olesya Tanasoglo, Head of the Main Department of Culture and Tourism of Gagauzia Marina Semyonova, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Education for educational work of Gagauzia Anna Russu.
An important partner of the Russian House in Chisinau is the Presidential Library: since 2012, its remote electronic reading room has been opened at the center. Since January 2021, a remote electronic reading room has been opened in the Central Library of Gagauzia.
Visitors get full access to the materials of the Presidential Library’s electronic collections as well as the documents, medieval handwritten books, printed publications, photographs, maps, modern scientific research on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood. Of particular interest are the statistical materials, studies, essays, archival documents and newsreels of the early 19th - mid-20th centuries presented in the collection Russia - Moldova: the History of Relations, representing military history, geography, administrative-territorial division, legal system and ethnography of Moldova - Bessarabia during the period of its entry into a common state with Russia.
