Russian Cinema Week in Beijing

6 January 2022

From December 22-26, the Russian House in Beijing hosted a series of film screenings "Week of Russian Cinema: Xiamen-202". This year, new Russian films are screened for the third time at one of China's oldest and most prestigious film festivals, The Golden Rooster, in Xiamen. For the first time, film screenings as part of the Week were also held at the Russian House in Beijing.

Following the opening ceremony and screening of the film "Dream Team" directed by Philip Abryutin, Russian and Chinese viewers saw the action movie "Russian Raid", a film about the siege of Leningrad "Africa", short films "My name is Petya" and "Exit", as well as the documentary "A short guide to raising seals”.

The film week was organized jointly with the Russian Film Group Corporation, the Xiamen Cinematography Bureau, the Xiamen Russian Film Media company with the support of the propaganda department of the Xiamen CPC District Committee, the Fujian Provincial Cinematography Bureau and the Yupai Xiamen Cultural Company.

A special collection dedicated to the Year of Cinema in Russia (2016) has been formed in the electronic collections of the Presidential Library. It includes official documents, studies, visual materials (posters, postcards, etc.), revealing various aspects of the development of domestic cinema since the beginning of the 20th century, as well as dedicated to individual films and actors of Russian and Soviet cinema. In addition, the institution's portal presents the first artistic films created in the Russian Empire, and modern documentaries on various topics.

On the official page of the Presidential Library, only part of the materials from the electronic collections of the largest digital repository is available. One has opportunity to learn about the information resources of the library in full in the remote access centers opened in various countries of the world, one of which has been opened since 2010 at the Russian House in Beijing.
