The Presidential Library to hold the final stage of the Olympiad Russia in the Electronic World
The third and final stage of the eleventh annual interactive Olympiad of the Presidential Library for schoolchildren Russia in the Electronic World in history, social science and the Russian language will be held from March 15-17, 2022.
As a result of the second stage, 260 finalists entered the third, final round, while some of them participated in the Olympiad in several subjects at once. In total it involved 90 people in history, 129 in social science and 104 in Russian.
The first qualifying stage of the interactive educational project took place from September 20 to November 30, 2021 with more than 3,000 schoolchildren participating. The second stage, held from December 20, 2021 to January 21, 2022, involved 555 participants.
The third stage will be held in person at the same time in St. Petersburg at the Presidential Library on Senate Square, 3, in the branch of the library in Tyumen at the Mendeleev Tyumen Regional Scientific Library and at 37 regional venues in many cities of Russia.
To complete the tasks of the final stage the schoolchildren will have to turn to the Presidential Library’s collections, which contain more than a million depository items. They are electronic copies of books and periodicals, archival documents, audio and video recordings, photographs, scientific and educational films and other materials. The knowledge of the participants will be assessed by a competent jury, which includes reputable scientists and teachers from leading Russian universities. The winners and prize-awardees are awarded memorable prizes and gifts from the Presidential Library.
During the existence of the Olympiad Russia in the Electronic World - since 2010 - more than 50,000 students have been involved in it. Many winners and prize-awardees subsequently entered prestigious universities of Russia.
For foreign students and schoolchildren over 14 years old the Olympiad is held in the subject Russian as a foreign language. More information is available on the website http://olympiada.prlib.ru/rusforeign.
