The winners and prize-awardees of Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad awarded at the Presidential Library

The annual interactive Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad for senior pupils has been completed. On May 17, 2022 the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-awardees of the Olympiad was held at the Presidential Library.

In the academic year 2021-2022 more than three thousand pupils of senior classes of general education schools, as well as students of secondary vocational education institutions from 66 regions of Russia and foreign countries, includeing Croatia, Iran, Belarus and others, took part in the Olympiad.

The Olympiad is traditionally held in the following disciplines: "History", "Social Studies", "Russian Language" and "Russian as a Foreign Language". Participants could try their hand at all subjects or choose the one in which they feel more confident.

The Olympiad includes three mandatory stages - the first and second qualifying stages were held using a remote knowledge testing system. The third and final stage took place from March 15 to March 17, 2022 at the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, at the library branch in Tyumen and at 37 regional sites in many Russian cities. As a result of the second stage, 260 finalists entered the third and final rounds, while some of them participated in the Olympiad in several subjects at once.

The knowledge of the participants is evaluated by a competent jury which includes reputable scientists and teachers from leading Russian universities.

On May 17 the winners and prize-awardees of the Olympiad from St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region were awarded at the Presidential Library: Ksenia Soboleva was awarded a 1st degree diploma in Russian, Ivan Zuev - 2nd degree diplomas in history and social studies, Evgenia Vasilyeva - 2nd degree diploma in history.

The awarding of winners and prize-awardees took place via video link in Tyumen branch of the Presidential Library. By tradition, children from this region take an active part in the Olympiad, win prizes and compete with schoolchildren from other regions of the Russian Federation. Anzhelika Alexandrova and Daria Ovchinnikova were awarded 1st degree diplomas in history; Vitalina Kanakova - 1st degree diploma in Russian; Pavel Varavko - 2nd degree diploma in history and 3rd degree in social studies; Shakhzod Bobokalonov and Vera Kartashova - 2nd degree diplomas in history; Andrey Omelchenko - 2nd degree diploma in social science. Five people at once received diplomas of the 2nd degree in Russian: Alina Kornienko, Yulia Shudrina, Daria Kharitonova, Maria Ladanova, Nikita Nogovitsin. Also among the winners from Tyumen Region were Daria Chernysheva - 3rd degree diploma in history; Anna Oganesyan and Elmira Yanabaeva - 3rd degree diplomas in social science, Sofia Zemlyanykh - 3rd degree diploma in Russian language.

The Presidential Library’s Reserve center in Moscow also honored the winners and prize-awardees of Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad. Dina Vyalshina was awarded two diplomas of the 1st degree: in social science and the Russian language. Ivan Kalyuzhny was awarded two diplomas: 1st degree in social science and 3rd degree in history. Kamilla Zakirova and Victoria Trofimova received 1st degree diplomas in social science. Alexandra Bolycheva - 2nd degree diploma in history; Nikita Grishakov - 2nd degree diploma in Russian; Karina Galoyan - 3rd degree diploma in social studies; Mirko Kaludzherovich - 2nd degree diploma in the discipline "Russian as a foreign language".

During the existence of Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad since 2010 more than 50,000 pupils have taken part in it.
