A new stage of cooperation between the Presidential Library and the National Library of Uzbekistan

On June 16, 2022 a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the Presidential Library and the National Library of Uzbekistan as part of the anniversary XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The document provides for cooperation in the field of information and librarianship, culture and science; support for projects that will help to digitize research materials and fill gaps in information and library collections; joint work in the areas of automation of library and bibliographic processes, exchange and delivery of electronic documents, scientific bibliography, as well as training. It is planned to hold conferences and workshops to exchange experience and work on the introduction of advanced achievements and new technologies, the exchange of professional experience and scientific achievements.

The Presidential Library and the Alisher Navoi National Library have long-standing and good relations. Since 2013 the Presidential Library’s specialists have been participating in the annual international conferences "Central Asia", joint events, training workshops and discussion platforms of partners from Uzbekistan.

The collection Russia - Uzbekistan: The History of Relations is available on the Presidential Library’s portal. The studies, essays, archival documents, postcards and photographs presented in the collection spotlight the geography, the history of the administrative structure, cultural and economic development of individual cities and regions of Republic of Uzbekistan, mainly during their stay as part of the Russian Empire.
