A film about beautiful places and amazing people of Leningrad Region screened at the Presidential Library
On June 28, 2022 the Presidential Library hosted a screening of the film “Custodians. My Leningrad Region" directed by Anastasia Bar.
The land around St. Petersburg is known for its beauty: palaces, parks, gardens, fountains, fortresses... Its historical memory keeps traces of enemy invasions and great discoveries. It inspired the creation of literary and musical works... It would seem - what's new can be said about these locations?
“We decided to make a film about people who keep history - about museum workers who not only preserve museum and archival treasures for us and our descendants, but also make amazing discoveries, unravel the mysteries of history ... Gatchina, the Great Gatchina Palace and Estate, Nabokov's memorial estate - "Rozhdestveno", the stationmaster's house in Vyra, Shlisselburg, a fortress in Staraya Ladoga...", - said the film director Anastasia Bar.
The film "Custodians. My Leningrad Region" has been created by the Higher School of Directors and Screenwriters with a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society, provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
The event recording is available in the Presidential Library’s cinema club group on the VKontakte social network, as well as on the institution's Rutube-channel.
