Kurgan Regional Center of the Presidential Library spotlights the most tragic day in the history of our country
The multimedia exhibition, prepared by the specialists of the Kurgan Regional Center of Access to Information Resources of the Presidential Library, is dedicated to June 22 - the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. The electronic exposition begins with a story about the events preceding the German attack on the USSR. One has opportunity to learn about an electronic copy of an undercover message from Berlin dated June 17, 1941 about the completion of Germany's preparations for an attack on the USSR, with a message from Deputy People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR Ivan Maslennikov to Deputy People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR Andrei Vyshinsky about cases of violation of the state border of the USSR by foreign aircraft for 20 June 1941.
Thanks to the exhibition, viewers have an opportunity to learn about the events unfolded in the country in the first hours of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
With the help of unique sources, viewers are provided with entries from the register of persons received by Stalin in Kremlin on June 21-22, 1941.
The exhibition features information about how people in Trans-Urals learned about the beginning of the war. According to the documents and materials of the local press, it becomes clear that in the first days of the war a wave of rallies took place in Trans-Ural Territory. In Kurgan itself, at a city-wide rally on June 23, 1941, a resolution according to which the Kurgans promised to defend their homeland at the cost of their own lives, was adopted.
