Russian language center to open in Arkhangay aimag in Mongolia

5 July 2022

The Russian House in Ulaanbaatar and Arkhangai aimag agreed to open a Russian language center and a library of Russian literature based on secondary school № 3 in the city of Tsetserleg. The parties discussed cooperation in the field of culture, education and youth projects, as well as initiatives aimed at improving the quality of teaching Russian language to schoolchildren.

Today there are 23 Russian language teachers in Arkhangai aimag. Russianists themselves came up with a proposal to organize an internship in Russia in order to improve their skills in one of the Russian regions bordering Mongolia.

Acting Head of the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar Valeria Kilpyakova noted that the number of students from Mongolia is increasing every year in the regions of Russia. Their knowledge of the Russian language is formed at school, so working on the quality of teaching is an urgent and correct task.

A remote access center to information resources of the Presidential Library has been opened since 2015 based on the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Ulaanbaatar. In 2018, a remote access center was also opened at the Mongolian University of Post-Graduate Education.

Guests to the Russian House have opportunity to learn about the large-scale electronic collection of the Presidential Library Russian Language.

The collection dedicated to the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation was formed by September 1, 2013 and included 539 depository items. Today, its volume is 1,176 depository items.

The collection features manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archives, research papers (including dissertations and thesis), dictionaries and reference books, teaching aids of various types and levels.

Many materials on Russian-Mongolian relations are available in the large-scale electronic collection of the Presidential Library Russia-Mongolia: The History of Relations.

The collection includes studies, essays, archival and other materials spotlighting certain aspects of the life of Mongolia, as well as the history of diplomatic, military and economic relations between Russia and Mongolia in the period of the 13th-21st centuries.
