The Summer Program of the Presidential Library’s centre of remote access in Nefteyugansk: battles, crosswords, intellectual games

A series of complex events of the Summer Program, organized by the centre of remote access of the Presidential Library based on the Nefteyugansk City Library, took place in June, 2022 within the framework of the development of humanitarian diplomacy with neighboring countries and the cooperation agreement with the Gabit Musirepov North Kazakhstan Regional Children and Youth Library of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archival Affairs of the Akimat of North Kazakhstan Region.

The participants of the event were children from health camps of the secondary schools №4 and №9 of Nefteyugansk and the Gagarin secondary school №14 of Petropavlosk.

The first meeting was dedicated to the state symbols of Russia and Kazakhstan. The children prepared presentations on the history of establishment of national symbols of the two countries, on the meanings of colours and ornaments on the flags and the coats of arms, hosted a workshop to make a national flag out of modeling clay, completed a crossword in Google Docs. In the event’s finale, they performed the song Me, you, him, her, together – a whole country, a happy family that united the children from the two nations.

The second meeting, the intellectual and local historical battle Open Parallel was dedicated to the history and culture of North Kazakhstan Region and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra. Each of the parties prepared interesting video presentations that reflected their region’s history, culture, customs, traditions and historical sites. Together, the participants worked on the crossword puzzles on flora and fauna of the countries in already familiar format, learned about traditional ornaments, and read poetry in the national languages: Kazakh, Russian and Khanty.

Together with the public association – branch of the Russian, Slavic and Kazakh Organizations Association of the People’s Assembly of North Kazakhstan Region of Republic of Kazakhstan in Petropavlovsk, the cultural program Cyril and Methodius Legacy. Turning the Pages of the Epoch was organized. This is a historical excursus aiming at the promotion of Russian language, masterpieces of Slavic literary heritage and writing. The Nefteyugansk Library showed the video presentation XIX Century. Golden Collection of Russian Culture about the main achievements of the epoch and its remarkable representative – Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. The writer’s oeuvre was reflected in the plastic etude based on one of his mysterious work The Farewell Tale.

The Presidential Library has formed an interregional and foreign information network. As of today, the Presidential Library has opened about 1400 remote access centers in all 85 regions of the Russian Federation
